DMC Healthcare Practices

Since 2003, we’ve been providing high-quality NHS heathcare services to people of Peckham and East Dulwich from this site. In 2018, the practice underwent a fresh coat of paint, a clean up, and a rethink of how we communicated key information to patients (from highlighting practice services to leading a healthy lifestyle at home). Our practice team, patient patient groups, and local contractors all collaborated on this project. We’re pleased with the outcomes, and we hope that patients experience a pleasant visit.

Our standardised approach has since been applied to other GP practices, to ensure all patients have the same welcoming and positive experience at which ever DMC GP practice they visit.

    Crystal Palace Road Surgery

East Dulwich is a proud home for DMC Healthcare, whereby DMC Crystal Palace Road Medical Centre (previously known as Dulwich Medical Centre) was founded in 1994 by Doctor Ram Gupta, the father of our founders.

We are proud of the lasting ties we have developed with patients and people of the community. Chairman of the Dulwich Patient Participation Group, Neville Maguire, has been a patient since the beginning and continues to be one now. With our beautiful outdoor gardens, and an open-plan waiting area, we hold a variety of community activities, including tea parties for the elderly.

Our service is founded on the principles of patient-clinician trust and respect.

Primary care is the bedrock of the NHS, but it is under strain to keep up with an ageing population and a growing number of chronic illnesses. We feel it is critical that patients who require immediate attention get prompt access to our services. This includes digitally scheduling appointments and obtaining repeat medicines.

Our primary healthcare facilities are contemporary and roomy, and they provide patients with a full range of NHS primary and urgent care services, as well as support and extended hours.

All of our services are CQC-approved, and we adhere to stringent clinical governance guidelines. Our people and their dedication are also our greatest assets. DMC invests in a multi-skilled and varied team that offers consumers self-management counselling, regular health checks, and better prescription management.

Clinical Effectiveness

Clinical effectiveness means ensuring that all aspects of service delivery are designed to provide the best outcomes for patients. This is achieved by ensuring that the right care is delivered to the right person at the right time they are in need and in the correct setting.

Information

A patient’s information should always be up to date and correct on any systems used. It should also be confidential through correct storage and management of data.

Risk Management

Risk Management involves having robust systems in place to understand, monitor and minimise the risks to patients and staff and to learn from mistakes. When things go wrong in the delivery of care, our staff teams should feel safe admitting it and be able to learn and share what they have learnt, which embeds change in practice.

Patient & Public Involvement

Communication with patients and the public is essential to gain insight on the quality of care we deliver, and any possible problems that can result. Public involvement is equally as important to ensure that patient and public feedback is used to improve services into day-to-day practice for better patient outcomes.

Education & Training

This encompasses the provision of appropriate support to enable staff to be competent in doing their jobs and to develop their skills so that they are up to date. Professional development needs to continue through lifelong learning.

Staff Management

This ensures the organisation recruits highly skilled staff and aligns them with the correct job roles. Staff are supported in professional development and to gain and improve their skills.

Audit

The aim of the audit process is to ensure that clinical practice is continuously monitored and that deficiencies in relation to set standards of care are remedied. Research goes alongside audits to pioneer best practice improvements.
