The core purpose of our clinical governance framework is to achieve high quality of care by:

+ ensuring clinical governance is firmly embedded into every day working practice;

+ continuously reviewing and improving our policies and procedures to frame internal standards;

+ prioritising clinical training and development;

+ providing a learning dissemination framework;

+ providing clear reporting lines with rapid escalation pathways;

+ providing a solid IT infrastructure;

+ holding regular, structured governance meetings.

Clinical governance and compliance

Our clinical governance framework is based on five key components:

+ risk management;

+ evidence-based practice;

+ professional development and training;

+ patient and public engagement;

+ information management.

Clinical training

All our primary care clinicians are supported through our bespoke resource, and our radiologists through our training academy, which is operated in partnership with the British Institute of Radiology.
