Service Update – New Contracts
From 1st April 2019 DMC Healthcare will be the new provider of Dermatology services for Brent and Harrow and North Kent.
We are experiencing very high call volumes at present due to the transfer of service from Medway Maritime Hospital to DMC Healthcare. If you were due to have an appointment in April and May at the hospital and this has been cancelled, please be assured we will contact you during the month in which you had your appointment to rebook you.

Transparency and communication with our patients is very important to us. We will be taking these steps to ensure we engage with each of our new dermatology patients.
- Every patient interaction is important to us
Our admin team are hard at work reaching out to all patients to confirm their upcoming appointment dates, times and location.
- Urgent Care is our top priority
We are prioritising patients with urgent requirements. For patients where there is a suspicion of cancer, your appointment will be noted as Urgent and you will be contacted and offered a suitable time and location.
- We appreciate your patience while things settle down
It is inevitable that appointments already scheduled for the month of April and May will be impacted by the change. DMC will be contacting patients during the transition period to make a new booking with your date, time and location. We hope you will bear with us during the changeover.

Referrals into the service from 1st April 2019
If your GP refers you into the dermatology service from 1st April 2019, we will review your referral to see whether it is appropriate to be seen by one of our clinicians, or should be sent to a hospital or back to the GP. DMC will call you to book a suitable appointment at your chosen location.
If you have attended a previous dermatology appointment, and require a follow-up appointment with us at DMC, your records will be securely transferred so you have full continuity of care.

· If you consider your condition to be serious and it cannot wait
