Transfer of Care
From 1st April 2019 the Dermatology service currently provided by Medway NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) will be delivered by DMC Healthcare.
The new North Kent Dermatology Service will be Consultant led, supported and delivered by a specialist, multidisciplinary team.
From 1st April, dermatology services will no longer be provided at Medway Maritime Hospital. It is inevitable that appointments already scheduled for the month of April and May will be impacted by the change.
DMC will be contacting patients during the transition process to make new bookings in terms of exact date, time and location. We hope you will bear with the service during the changeover.
All patients will be within the same queuing system as before the transitional period. For patients where there is a suspicion of cancer, your appointment will be noted as Urgent and you will be contacted and offered a suitable time and location by 15th April.
Appointments scheduled for April 2019
For patients with appointments scheduled within the month of April, DMC will contact you by telephone at the beginning of April to confirm or reschedule your appointment at a suitable date and location for you in the month of April or early May.
Appointments scheduled for May 2019
For patients with appointments scheduled within the month of May, DMC will honour your appointment date where possible. However, we will contact you by telephone at the beginning of May to reschedule a new location for your appointment, ideally closer to your home.
